BAKING INSTRUCTIONS FOR REHEATING BAKED EMPANADAS AT HOME

  1. Once you received your empanadas baked 80%, please open the boxes lids to release the steam.
  2. Once they cool down, keep them refrigerated. If you are not eating them within the next 24hrs, you can freeze them for up to 6 months. (check instructions below for frozen 80%)
  3. Preheat oven to 450 F for at least 15 minutes.
  4. Make sure to take the empanadas out of the refrigerator, while preheating the oven.
  5. Place empanadas 1” apart on a cookie-pan with aluminum foil sprayed with oil or butter.
  6. bake the empanadas for about 2-3 minutes – depending on your oven, 5 minutes at most.

  • Note: you are only warming-up your empanadas as they have already been cooked. Leaving them in the oven for longer will result in drier and overcooked empanadas

BAKING INSTRUCTIONS FOR FROZEN RAW EMPANADAS

  1. Preheat oven to 450 F for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Directly from the freezer place the empanadas 1” apart on a cookie-pan with aluminum foil sprayed with oil or butter.
  3. Once you have preheated your oven for 15 minutes or more, bake the empanadas  about 15 -20 minutes or until golden brown, depending on your oven.

  • Note: Empanadas with cheese will have a shorter baking-time than protein ones. Our recommendation is to separate protein and cheese empanadas so that when the time comes, taking out the cheese empanadas will be quicker and easier.

SOME TIPS

BAKING INSTRUCTIONS FOR FROZEN RAW EMPANADAS

BAKING INSTRUCTIONS FOR FROZEN RAW EMPANADAS

  1. The cheese is like lava! Overcooking the cheese empanadas will cause leaking and breakage in the dough. Remove them from the oven immediately once you have seen that the dough has risen and turned light brown.
  2. Do NOT cover them while baking.
  3. Do not Microwave.
  4. You can use an air fryer if you like! (we cannot help you with this… but many customers use it)
  5. This crust is not for oil frying.
